Title: Truck driver (Truck Driver - Flatbed & Roll Off) (NOC: 7411)

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Day

Salary: $15.00 to $18.00 Hourly for 40 hours per week

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Location: East Gwillimbury, Ontario (1 vacancy)
Skill Requirements:

Education: Completion of high school

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) Certificate, Air Brake Adjustment Certificate

Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years

Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Flatbed

Type of Travel: Short-haul, Long-haul, Local, Provincial/territorial

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports, Dangerous goods occurrence reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment

Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Transport hazardous products or dangerous goods, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness

Security and Safety: Bondable, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract)

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Writing, Oral communication
