Skill Requirements:

Education: Completion of high school, Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Machinist Trade Certification, 3rd Period Apprentice

Experience: 5 years or more

Languages: Speak English

Work Setting: General manufacturing

Type of Machine Experience: Conventional

Machining Tools and Machines: Boring machines, Drill presses, Engine lathes, Gear cutting machines, Milling machines, Shapers, Tool grinders

Measuring Tools: Micrometers, Callipers, Gauges

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables, Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Tight deadlines

Essential Skills: Document use, Oral communication, Working with others, Critical thinking, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Continuous learning
