Skill Requirements:

Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Machinist Trade Certification, Machinist Red Seal Endorsment, CAMC Aviation Machinist Certification, WHMIS Certificate

Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years

Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Work Setting: General manufacturing

Specialized Machining Processes: Water jet

Type of Machine Experience: Conventional

Machining Tools and Machines: Automatic lathes, Boring machines, CNC machines, Drill presses, Milling machines, Surface grinders

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables, Set up and adjust production machinery, Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance, Verify dimensions of machined tools and parts using precision measuring instruments, Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments, Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances, Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports

Security and Safety: Bondable, Driving record check (abstract)

Own Tools/Equipment: Safety equipment/gear, Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods
