Education: Not required

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Roofer Trade Certification, 1st Period Apprentice, 2nd Period Apprentice, 3rd Period Apprentice, Roofer Red Seal Endorsment, Rooftop Safety Training

Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years

Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Major Work Area: Construction, Re-roofing, Repairs

Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Commercial, Institutional, Industrial, Residential

Area of Specialization: Conventional and inverted built-up systems, Modified roofing systems, Single ply sheet membrane roofing systems, Skylights

Types of shingles, tiles and pre-formed sheeting materials: Tar and gravel

Specific Skills: Install sheet metal flashings, Apply waterproof coatings to concrete and masonry surfaces, Troubleshoot and detect leaks, Repair or replace roofing systems

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Site Environment: At heights

Work Location Information: Various locations

Essential Skills: Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving

Other Information:For SBS, BUR/TP0 and EPDM. Excellent wages, benefits and RRSP.
