Skill Requirements:

Education: Some high school

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A)

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Flatbed

Type of Travel: Short-haul, Local, Provincial/territorial

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract)

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, Willing to travel overnight, Valid driver's licence

Essential Skills: Reading text, Oral communication, Working with others

Other Information:Clean Class One, experience with winch tractor, forklift, picker truck and shop move an asset
