Education: Completion of high school

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Not required

Experience: No experience

Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Work Setting: Formal dining room

Maître d'hôtel Specific Skills: Greet and seat customers, Oversee and receive customers' reservations and assign tables, Attend to seating arrangements for large groups, Answer customers' questions regarding menu items and preparation methods

Host/Hostess Specific Skills: Receive customers' reservations and assign tables, Greet and seat customers, Attend to seating arrangements for large groups, Assist food and beverage servers when required

Administrative and Supervisory Experience: Perform opening and closing activities

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Standing for extended periods

Ability to Supervise: 1 to 2 people

Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Oral communication, Problem solving, Critical thinking
