Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification, 1st Period Apprentice, 2nd Period Apprentice, 3rd Period Apprentice, 4th Period Apprentice, Driver's License (Class 3 or D), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement

Experience: Experience an asset

Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Major Work Area: Repair, Maintenance, Service

Type of Equipment Repair: Heavy trucks, Heavy construction equipment, Oilfield well servicing equipment, Cranes, Forklifts

Mechanical Repair Specialization: Power take-offs, Vehicle brake systems, Wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering

Powered Equipment Repair Specialization: Hydraulic-operated working attachments, Winche, Compressors, Pumps, Electric generators

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, Determine extent of repair required, Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, Test repaired equipment for proper performance, Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work, Service attachments and working tools

Additional Skills: Order parts and maintain inventory, Keep maintenance reports and documentation, Welding experience

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract), Driver's validity license check

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Valid driver's licence
