Skill Requirements:

Education: Completion of high school, Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 3 or D), Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate, H2S (Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness) Training, First Aid Certificate, WHMIS Certificate

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Type of Construction: Industrial, commercial and institutional

Equipment and Machinery Experience: Bobcats, Reciprocating saws, Circular saws, Grinding machines, Sledgehammers, Air compressors, Air guns, Nail guns, Drills, Chainsaws, Forklifts, Torches, Small front end loaders

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Load, unload and transport construction materials, Assist heavy equipment operators, Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs, Clean and pile salvaged materials, Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites, Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract)

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots, Gloves

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity
